UNICITY PERFORMING ART FESTIVAL ROCKED!

May 26, 2009 by Paul Lewis

I was blown away by the Unicity Festival on May 15th & 16th in Salisbury, MD @ Winterplace Park. The acts alone, the ones I got to see anyway, were so professional and extremely talented. There is a lot of talent out there that just doesn’t get the exposure they deserve and or should have. That’s what makes this festival so special.  Tthe acts were indie and or actual dance & theatre companies. The diversity was crazy. A dance troupe on one stage, a punk band on another, then a comedian on another, and a musical theatre group on another, and a bluegrass band on another. and after them R&B & funk. This was something to behold. I am so proud to be a part of something like this and I hope that all of you reading this gets to experience this festival for yourself!I have to say something about the Y-NOT performance. It was crazy fun! Playing with those guys again was so energizing and it was as if we had never stopped playing together. The crowd was so into it. I could not have asked for a better scenario. A big shout out to all the ’NOT-HEADS’ who came out, and all the new fans!  I would also like to give a big shout out to Steve Wallace, Marco Riva, Matthew King, Matthew Porcaro, Joe Trainor,  &  the crew. I would also like to thank the crew @ Unicity.
Peace PL

PL IN PRE-PRODUCTION FOR NEW RECORDING

February 14, 2009 by Paul Lewis

PL along with new producer Lance Davis from Philadelphia are about to embark on a whole new creative musical journey together with the help of several musicians. PL will be recording at Racetrack Sound Studios in March of 09. PL stated, ’I am taking a new path with this record. I have 14 tracks some of which are instrumental. I gave Lance the demo and told him to run with it. This project is wide open and that’s the best way I believe for it to go in different directions.’  Davis was quoted as saying,  ’This is very exciting for me to have this kind of freedom to work with an artist that has established himself as a great songwriter,  singer, performer & musician.’ I will be pushing Paul in many new directions on this record. This type of collaboration is something I have always wanted to do as an artist & producer.’Look for the new release later this year.

NYE IN BALTIMORE !

January 3, 2009 by Paul Lewis

The NYE party in Baltimore at the stunning Baltimore Hilton was fantastic! I had an amazing acoustic set in the VIP room. I made some new fans as well as played for several long time fans. The food was great & the vibe was great! I want to give a big shout out to Pat Barton & Party DC & to High Ball events  for putting together the best event yet! This is not the first one I have played at and it certainly will not be the last. If you have not made one of these events make a point to go next year!

OK… now on to other stuff I am in pre-production for my brand new recording this month! I am very excited many new songs and musicians as well as some musicians that I have been playing with for years. I am also working with a brand new producer and I am very excited about that.

I am also singing in a Cabaret this month on Sunday January 25th @ 7pm @ The Premiere Center for the Arts!. I sang in my first Cabaret  (Phantom Of The Opera & Wiked) back at the end of November right after “Rocky Horror.” This Cabaret is all Stephen Soundheim music. That includes “Company, Into The Woods, West Side Story & of course Sweeny Todd!” Yes it’s true I have been going back to my roots recently with musical theatre. That is where it all began.  Very exciting!
