Paul Lewis will compete as a celebrity guest in this years 2nd Annual Dancing For the Dogs competition. The event will raise money and awareness for local animal shelters. Last year’s event raised over 70,000 dollars. The event is sold out but fans can support Paul by voting for him. Each dollar counts towards one vote. Producer/Singer/Songwriter Paul Lewis has signed on to produce Iranian metal band Underground Dream. The collaboration began over a year ago via Skype while waiting for the band to arrive in the United States. Pre-Production and tracking have commenced in Los Angeles.
The band was discovered by Lewis while sorting through thousands of submissions. Lewis says, “I searched through thousands of entries and only a few stood out. Underground Dream was at the top of my list. They had something special from the start. It has been almost two years in the making, to be separated by so many miles, oceans, countries and culture yet still be connected is rare. This will certainly be a high point in my career.”
The band which consists of singer/composer/guitarist Bezhad, bassist Amirali, drummer Ali Reza and the lead guitarist Mohammad bring a unique twist musically and visually to the standard metal formula. The music features an aggressive metal edge that is unique and true to their culture. Lewis says, “Lyrically the songs hit you hard like a crowbar to the face, letting you into their world that is sometimes frightening, and mostly misunderstood. They really allow the listener to get to see a culture unknown to the west except for what we see on TV or what we read.” Underground Dream is schedule to debut their live show in the US late spring 2013.
Producer/Songwriter/Singer Paul Lewis has received multiple Grammy entries for this years Grammy list as both a producer and artist. The entries include two for Producer of the year for his work on John McManus’ “613” and for his recording “Bag of Rain” along with Co-Producer Lance Davis. Paul’s solo CD “Bag of Rain” also falls under Best Enginnered Album for Paul Chiacchierini, Lance Davis, Paul Lewis, Engineers; Robert Venable, Mastering engineer. “In A Day” received a entry for Best Rock Song and the cd received Best Pop Vocal Album. Paul is currently producing multiple artist’s CD’s that are scheduled to be released in 2013.
